Bob Taylor - President

A graduate of Alma College, Bob has been active in real estate since 1974. Among his many services to the profession, he’s served as chairman of 20 local association REALTOR® committees, as an Instructor for Association Orientation, ABR and state continuing education, Past President of BBRSOAR, Director of MCAR, past chairman of Inter-Board Regionalization Committee, member of the Association Merger Task Force, and member of Governing Board of Birmingham Women’s Council of REALTORS®. He’s chaired the State MLS Forum and the State Convention Task Force. He was an RPAC Trustee from 1999 through 2008. In 2002-2003, he was Vice-Chair of the Governance Task Force and has served on the Communications Task Force and the Professional Standards Committee. He has been a NAR Director since 2002, a member of NAR Research since 2000, NAR Business Issues since 2005 and NAR Professional Standards from 2004 to 2006. He was elected to the MAR Board of Directors in 2004, as Treasurer in 2008 and served as the 2009 President-Elect. |
Claire L. Williams - President-Elect

Claire Williams is a managing Partner with Remerica Hometown One. She is an accredited Buyer Representative/Manager, a graduate of the REALTOR® Institute, a Leadership Training Graduate, and the 2002 REALTOR® of the Year. Claire is a NAR Director, served two-terms as President of WCR, and an accomplished instructor and trainer. In 2009 she was appointed to serve as FPC for Congressman Thad McCotter. She has a strong record of community involvement not only in the REALTOR community but in her home communities of Plymouth / Canton. Claire and her husband Ron reside in Canton, Michigan and have two children, Rebecca and Allen. |

1986 was the year Beth started in the Real Estate business after having been in private practice, academia and a dental hygienist. She has been a volunteer for the real estate associations for 24 years. At MAR, she has served on the finance, grievance, professional standards committees, Broker Summit, FPC for District 2,vice chair of the redistricting task forceand was elected district 2 Directorfor 2005 and 2009. Beth was elected to serve as 2010 Treasurer of the MAR. At the local associations, she was the first president of theWMLAR, treasurer, MLS chairperson, Pro standards co-chair, and has taught courses for orientation. Beth was REALTOR® of the Year in 2000. Her education includes a BS from the Ohio State University, MA in Teaching and Educational Psychology from Western Michigan Universityand the University of Northern Iowa. She participates in competitive tennis with the USTA Western Michigan teams. This keeps Beth competitive in her business and healthy for her life’s career. |
Paul Scott - Past President

Paul Scott Real-Estate opened in 1971 and Paul has been a REALTOR® since 1976. He has been active at the local, state and national level since that time and in 1983 Paul was President of the Michigan Association of REALTORS®. In 2002 Paul was awarded the Distinguished Service Award, the National Association of REALTORS® highest honor. He is a lifetime NAR Director and served as the President of REALTOR® Land Institute in 1977. He is a member of the Traverse Area Association of REALTORS®, CBOR, MCAR and Western Wayne. Paul graduated from Michigan State University and spends his free time with his wife of over 50 years at his cherry farm in North Port. In addition to the Cherry Farm, Paul has owned and operated numerous nurseries and orchards, from banana plantations to various fruit farms.

Dan has been in the real estate business for over 27 years in a number of capacities within the company from commercial and residential sales to branch and division management. He currently serves as President of Brokerage Services for the Real Estate One Family of Companies since 1998. He and his brother, Stuart, share the leadership of the company and its affiliates. The company is in its third generation inMichigan, having begun as Elsea Realty in 1929 under Staunton Elsea, Dan and Stuart’s grandfather. Steve has been a licensed REALTOR® since 1973, a member of National Association of REALTORS®, the Michigan Association of REALTORS®, and the Grand Rapids Association of REALTORS®, where he is a past director. He previously owned Fase Realty and Home Builders, Prudential Fase Realty, and Prudential West Michigan REALTORS®; and has been a Broker with the Prudential Real Estate Affiliates since 1989. The proud son of Don and Terry Fase, Steve has been married to Patty Fase for over 30 years. They have five children: Katy, Jenny, Stevie, Matt and Mary. He loves the outdoors (especially Northern Michigan), including trout fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. He also enjoys both handball and golf when time permits. Bill Milliken, CCIM, CIPS, began work in real estate in Ann Arbor in 1987. Milliken Realty, which he formed in 1996, was named a Best of Michigan Business in 2008. Previously, he worked in Washington, D.C. for NASA and the U.S. Dept. of Justice. Bill was elected to the board of the CCIM Institute in 2006 where he has held numerous leadership positions. He was also a delegate on CCIM’s trade mission to China in 2006. Amongst many civic activities, he served as president of the Commercial Board of REALTORS®, board chair of the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce, and secretary of Artrain USA. Elaine has been a practitioner in real estate in Michigan since 1990, a Broker from 1993. Designations earned in the Real Estate Industry include ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative), ePro (Internet integrated training to meet the needs of today’s eBuyer) and CRS Certified Residential Specialist. She is currently working at C. A. Hanes Realty in West Branch, MI. Has served on the Michigan Association of REALTORS® as Director for District #1 (2006-2009) and on the Political Policy Committee since 2008. Elaine has served the Northeastern Board of Michigan REALTORS® as Vice President of Ogemaw County, President Elect (2005), President (2006). She teaches Orientation to new members of the Northeastern Michigan Board including Anti Trust and, Fair Housing, and The Code of Ethics. In her local community Rose City, She has served as REALTOR® Representative on the Planning Committee (2002-2007) and a member of the DDA (2002-2007). Matt Case, GRI, Associate Broker, Director of Support Services, Coldwell Banker Schmidt Family of Companies. Matt served on the Board of Directors of the Benzie County Board of REALTORS®, and oversaw its demise via a merger with the Traverse Area Association of REALTORS® (TAAR) in 2001. He took a few years to infiltrate the new organization, and became a TAAR Director in 2005. The following year he served as Treasurer and in 2007 was President Elect, as well as taking part in the Strategic Planning Committee and the Search Committee for TAAR’s new AE. In 2008 he served as TAAR President, and since then has served as RPAC chair. He was TAAR REALTOR® of the Year in 2007, and has been honored as one of Northwest Michigan’s most influential people under 40 years of age via the Traverse City Business News “40 Under 40” for the past 4 years. Matt served as a Champion for The Grand Vision, a regional land use and transportation study conducted in 2008-2009. A 1996 graduate of Northwood University, where he also met his wife, Matt resides in Beulah with Tammy and their three sons. |
District 3 - Gene Szpeinski

Gene Szpeinski has served on almost every committee and Task Force at GRAR, including a term as Director from 2003- 2005. He was Grand Rapids Association of REALTORS®, REALTOR® of the Year in 2001. Served on the MLS Exchange Board of Directors from 2004 – 2006 and served as its’ President in 2006. He is a member of HBAGGR and has served on numerous committees, panels and boards. Gene also has served as an RPAC Trustee from 2002 – 2007 and is entering a second term on the MAR Board of Directors. He is a member of the NAR Land Use, and the Property Rights and Environment Committee from 2004 - 2010. He has extensive experience working with local governments and state officials and has developed 12 home or condo neighborhoods in Kent County since 1990. |

A native Midlander, Eric received a Bachelor’s degree from Berklee College in Boston, MA and a Masters Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He is a graduate of Sharp’s Real Estate Training Institute and is a member of the Midland Board of REALTORS®, the Michigan Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. Eric began his real estate career in 1987 specializing in resort properties in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and has also worked in the Orlando, Florida area. Since returning to Midland, Eric has specialized in residential properties and has helped many families. Eric is active in the Midland Chamber of Commerce and attends many seminars on the subject of real estate. Eric believes the Midland area is one of the best places in the country to live and raise a family. He has three children and resides in Midland. |

Carl is District 6 Director to the Michigan Association of REALTORS® and was named 2008 REALTOR® of the Year by Southwestern Michigan Association of REALTORS®. Licensed since '93, he received the GRI designation in '96 and became an Associate Broker that year with Prudential Red Arrow Realty. He trained new agents at Red Arrow from '94 through '08. He has served on the Standard Forms Committee since 1995, chairing it in '97, '00 and '08. Carl has served as Vice-chair and then Chair of the Public Relations Committee in '95 and '96. Winner of the Educational Achievement Award in '95, he sat on the SWMRIC Standard Forms Steering Committee in '97. Sitting on the local Association Board of Directors since '02, Carl has served as its Treasurer, President-elect and in 2006 as President. He represented the local Association of REALTORS as a manager of the SWMRIC Board in '06 & '07. He has served on the Finance Committee '04 through '07, acting as its chair in '04. Matt Davis, GRI, ABR, Associate Broker and 1992 Graduate from Miami University in Oxford Ohio, has been actively involved in both his community and REALTOR® associations throughout his 12 year career. A "SOB" or Son of a Broker, Matt grew up in the business at Rosemary Davis, REALTORS® in Marshall, Michigan. Since becoming a REALTOR® in 1997 Matt has served 11 years on the Battle Creek Area Association Board of Directors including 2 stints as President and was BCAAR's REALTOR® of the Year in 2004 and 2006. At the State level Matt chaired the MAR Public Policy Committee as well as the RPAC Trustees (current member), and was the recipient of the MAR REALTOR® Active in Politics (RAP) Award in 2005. Nationally, Matt was appointed as the Michigan RPIC (REALTOR® Political Involvement Committee Member) for NAR, and in that position serves as a "whip" for Michigan's 16 Federal Political Coordinators. He has served on the NAR Grassroots Strategic Plan workgroup, was a former FPC for Congressman Joe Schwarz (MI-7) and has been appointed to the 2010 Public Policy Coordinating Committee. Carol Griffith is a 3rd generation REALTOR® serving Livingston County. Her Grandfather, L.H. Crandall was one of the first REALTORS® in the County. Carol’s father a REALTOR® of over 55 years, has continued to serve the area as Broker for Crandall Realty. Carol and her brother Scott Griffith (past MAR president) have owned and operated ERA Griffith Realty since 1981. Carol has been licensed for over 30 years and has been very active serving the Livingston County Association of REALTORS® including Past President. She has been named REALTOR®- of- the-Year twice by her peers in Livingston County. Carol holds many active leadership roles in the community in which she resides. Nanci J. Rands is an associate broker with Hall and Hunter, Christie’s Great Estates in Birmingham. She was the 2006 President of Metropolitan Consolidated Association of REALTORS® (MCAR), and its 2007 REALTOR® of the Year. Nanci was then recognized as MAR’s REALTOR® of the Year. She was also named to the Crain’s Detroit Business list of the 100 most influential women. Nanci served as the 2008 MAR RPAC Chair and 2009 Major Donor Whip. She is an NAR director 2009 – 2011 and the Federal Political Coordinator for Senator Carl Levin. Nanci is an NAR RPAC trustee representing District 6 (Michigan and Ohio), 2010 – 2011. He served as 2009 President of the Downriver Association of REALTORS®, a DRAR Director since 2004, DRAR committee chair and member of Government Affairs and RPAC. Tom is also member of the Professional Development Committee for DRAR .In addition to his real estate involvement, Tom works with local municipality committees and departments on real estate and community issues. Tom is also a member of the Michigan Moose Association state board and administrator of the Taylor Moose Family Center.
